This doesn't look so hard

So everyday dad goes to the gym and he comes back all sweaty and breathing hard acting like he is going to die.  So I decided to tag along today and do his workout with him.  He said it was "chest and back day", so I was a little scared because I didn't know my chest had a back.  Anyway, we set up four different stations with two exercises each.  We would do one station and then switch with each other, and then run in place for one minute.  At first, I was really cocky and giggly but it definitely got harder.  Not worth all of the over reacting dad was doing (wipe off the sweat you pig!) but it was fun and I think I'm going to go tomorrow....unless I am really sore or something.

Doing some rows with half my body weight!

Dodgeball

On Friday we went to dinner and my friend Ethan happened to be sitting at the table next to us.  He said "hey Dylan, want to come to my birthday party on Sunday at skyzone?"  OF COURSE I WANT TO GO TO A BIRTHDAY PARTY AT SKY ZONE!  Now all I have to do is eat dinner like a good boy so that mom and dad are distracted and agree to let me go.  Let's see:

Seems pretty distracted to me
After eating all of my pizza, mom and dad said that I could go!  So that's a movie in the afternoon with friends, followed by a birthday party.  Do I have the best parents or what?  Anyway, we went to the movies and the kids got to sit all by themselves in a row.  This was a big deal and the first time we've been able to do that.  Mom and dad said it was because we couldn't get seven tickets together, I think they just wanted some peace and quiet.

Movie was great and we had to rush right over to the party.  I've so glad mom and dad let me go because a bunch of my friends from school were there including Gage from my class.  I stayed in the dodgeball court the ENTIRE party and won the first 5 games!!  I won a couple of more after that, but I am getting really good at dodgeball.

Then we had cake, pizza, and presents.  All and all a guy couldn't really ask for a better day.

2nd play date of the day

After I went to Katie's house to swim and learn to flip, I went over to Ethan and Ella's house for dinner.  We played on the slip and slide and ran around like crazy people.  After a long day of playing, I needed to ease my achy bones in the hot tub.

In a couple of years this will not be ok
Mom and dad stayed inside and had a play date of their own.  Its good to give those two a break sometimes too.  So we went upstairs and played some video games while they played games downstairs.  I learned that Mommy and Mrs. Angela DO NOT like to lose when they play games and that Dad and Mr. Dale are really poor winners.  Anyway, call me a bandwagon fan but needed to get a pic with a winner!

We were so good that we all decided to go see "Finding Dory" tomorrow at the movie theater.  Can't wait, should be fun!

A flippin' good time

We went over to Katie's house again on Saturday and boy was it HOT HOT HOT!!  Don't believe me?  Check this out!

With heat like that, it only left us with two options.  Stay inside (boooooo!) or go in the pool (yeahh!!).  We were swimming and having fun and decided to try and do some flips in the pool.  I was really scared at first but after I tried a couple of times I got really good on them.  This is one of my first attempts.

I'm getting dizzy
Not too bad for a rookie!

What's better than a double play date?

Try a quadra-play date!  When mom picked me up from baseball camp today she had a surprise for me!  4 friends were coming with me to go bowling.  We bowled and ate junk food and had the best time.  BEST >>>>MOM>>>>>EVER!!

Lucky Hat

I woke up this morning and realized that I left my hat at Chik-fil-a last night but needed one for baseball camp today.  It is way too hot outside to not have a hat on.  I know I shouldn't have, but I took dads lucky FSU hat just to see if it fits.  Man, I was made to wear this thing....hope it brings me luck today.  Also, whatever you do, under no circumstances, I don't care how much he begs, DO NOT TELL DAD I TOOK HIS HAT!!

I make this look good

Double Play Date

After baseball camp mom picked up William and Luke and brought them to the house for a double play date!  We had fun playing foosball and chasing the cats.  We made paper airplanes and also picked out funny pictures of each other out of a poke'mon book.  William had to go home for dinner but Luke stayed and ate at our house.  We had an epic minecraft battle that lasted so long we didn't even get to finish before it was time to take him home.  Thanks for the fun times mom!

Baseball Camp

Yesterday was my first day at baseball camp.  I was really nervous as we all know that I am deathly allergic to trying out new things.  I calmed down pretty quickly when I realized that 5 friends from my baseball team were all here!!  It was awesome and made it much easier to just chill and have fun.  The only bad part of the day is I lost my shoes and I have no idea how!

Long distance relationships

Sometimes I have to travel with mommy like I did last week and be away from dad and my friends.  Long distance relationships are hard but with the help of technology, we are able to keep in touch and see each other!

This is me talking to Katie
making Katie laugh with the bunny ears
Saying good bye

I am sure I talked to dad somewhere in there too but these were the funny ones.  Anyway, We come home today and I can't wait to give dad a big hug and please pray for my ribs because I'm sure he's gonna squeeze me super hard.

Daddy's Bday

Mom and I were traveling on Daddy's birthday so we decided to throw him a quick little surprise party before we went out of town.  He had no idea it was coming!  Happy birthday dad!

Nature vs. Nurture

I'm not sure which side of the coin I stand on in the nature vs. nurture debate but I do know that my daddy loves him some root beer floats and they are my favorite too!

mmmmmmmm
you gonna watch me eat the whole thing?

We went to Lofty Pursuits last night after eating dinner at Gordo's and I pulled the trigger and ordered me a big boy root beer float...dad was so proud.  Although later he seemed annoyed that I was still bouncing off the walls at 11PM but you can't have it both way big guy!

Strep Throat

A month ago I had the flu so there was no way I was sick again.  That's why when dad came home early from work yesterday to take me to the Dr. I was cranky.  I FEEL FINE, I said to them 100 times.  Nothing worked, so I was forced to go.

51.3 lbs
chillaxin' because I'M NOT SICK!
Selfies with pops

While waiting dad decided to test my reflexes with the little hammer thingy....it didn't work out too well for him:

So as you can tell from the pictures, I clearly wasn't sick and couldn't wait to use this "I told you so" to get a toy or something out of this.  The nurse came in a swabbed my throat which was better than last time when she swabbed my nose for the flu.  This was me describing the nose swab experience:

You can imagine my shock when the Dr. came in and said that I did, in fact, have Strep throat.  Crap, this means I'm going to have to take the bubble gum medicine that I hate for 10 days!!  Now I can't wait to use this sickness as a way to get a toy or something out of it.  Ugh, why couldn't it be during the school year so I could miss a day!!

Lazy Summer Days

Well, it's only a couple days into summer and I'm already starting to wear mom down.  I refuse to go to a summer camp and then bide my time.  It only takes a couple days of me lounging around the house "bored" for her to give in and do fun stuff with me.  It's a tricky game but I'm pretty good at it.  In the picture below, you might see a bored kid but in actuality I have three of my favorite things:  my furriest friend Teny by my side, my xbox controller, and my red "HO HO HO" blanket.  What more could a guy want?  She's starting to crack, I can tell.....she's calling dad every 20 minutes now saying how "bad she feels".  Something big is coming my way, I can feel it!!

putting my plan in motion

I'll keep you guys updated when she cracks!

"That's how it's done son"

Dad took me bowling the other day and I decided to teach him a lesson.  In the first game, I came out hot and was whoopin' his tail early.

Got this one on the bag
But I got cocky and let him come back and beat me.  Then it occurred to me that it isn't really fair that dad get's to use a big heavy ball that sends the pins flying and I use a small little one.  So I set the rules up for the second game that we both had to use the same size ball.  Things were a little different and he wasn't so cocky this time.

We had a back and forth match going when it all came down to the 10th frame.  I knew I needed to do something good to solidify my lead.
my approach

The release.....

and......STRIKE!!!  I knew I had him now and do you know what I said when I came back to the desk?

"That's how it's done son!"

Dad hung his head in defeat and then tried to talk to me about good sportsmanship but it just sounded like some mumbo jumbo that a loser would say.  I thanked dad for the game and then got an icee to savor my victory.  I'm just gonna leave this right here....

Am I too young to say "ass whoopin' "?

Crazy Fun Saturday

Last Saturday was a crazy fun day.  First I had a birthday party for Jack, Ben, and Luke at their house.  We swam, played games and ate cake!

Talking with my buddy Luke
bobbing for apples
Victory never tasted so sweet

Then we went to another friends house and had a "Schools' out bash" to celebrate school being over.  They had a big water slide and everything.

wheeeeeeee

And just when you thought you couldn't cram anymore fun into one day, the Bahmer boys all came back to my house for dinner and a play date.  We ordered in Chinese food and had some epic Minecraft and Mario Kart battles.

Can't wait to see what this weekend has in store for me!!

Danger Bunny

I have a really unique nickname that I'm sure you know the story of.  The "bunny" part of Danger Bunny comes from the fact that I was born on Easter.  The Danger part is a different story.  When mom and dad were picking out names for me they decided pretty quickly on Dylan but couldn't come up with a middle name.  Then one day dad had and AWESOME idea.  Why not make "Danger" my middle name?  He figured, nobody cares about a middle name anyway and so why not have a cool one?  He thought it was really funny to be able to say "danger is my middle name" just once and have it be correct.  Also, my nickname could be 3D! (Dylan Danger Dimartino).  He had it all figure out.

Anyway, long story short, mom (aka the fun police) decided that wasn't going to happen which is why I have my boring current middle name.  But that didn't stop dad from having T-shirts made up!

What could have been......

In protest he started calling me Danger Bunny because he's a stubborn ox.  Now that I am older, I realize how cool it would've been and often tease mommy that I'm changing my middle name when I get older.

Baseball Regional 2016

Well, last night was the first game in the college baseball regional so it meant we had to get all excited for dad and pretend like we want to go and sit in the sun for 3 hours.  Last night our Noles were taking on Alabama State and their All American pitcher who was 10-0 and had an ERA of 2.0 coming into the game (dad says all that stuff means something but I'll be darned if I know what it means).  Since dad is the smartest guy I know, I was really nervous with this super duper pitcher that we were going to have to play against.  We were pitching first and got three quick outs.  GULP, now it was time to try and hit against this monster.  Well, my Noles went out and scored seven runs in the first inning....guess the guy wasn't so scary after all!!  Anyway, we cruised to an 18-6 victory which made dad happy.  Since dad was happy, he let me pick dinner so of course I picked Barnaby's pizza because it's my favorite.

got my rally cap on

gorgeous day for some baseball

First step taken on the trip to the college World Series.....good luck Noles!

Sweet new ride

I got a sweet new ride yesterday....well, TECHNICALLY mom got a new ride but what's theirs is mine so I'm claiming it.  And you know what?  I earned it!  I went from riding in the back of a three row SUV down to a car and I know mommy wasn't happy about it either because she was always complaining about her car.  It looks like dad finally had enough and gave in (he's a stubborn one...he held out 3 and 1/2 years).  So anyway, talking dad into it should've been the hard part but actually buying the car was almost as much torture.  I try to be patient but here was the note I slipped to mom.

me passing mom notes.

At one point I even took mommy's phone and started to text dad.  Boy was THAT a mistake....it turns out, dad is just an 8 year old trapped in a grown ups body.  Look at this junk he texted me.

right off the bat he's all "fart butt poopie head"
then he shows he can dish it out but not take it
he's fun to mess with

I even took her out for a test drive to give it the ole' Dylan seal of approval.

8 short years and this baby will be all mine

When it was all said and done, mommy got a really nice SUV that I am going to be able to spread out in the back of on long road trips.  Congrats mommy!!  Better luck next time dad......

finally after hours it was over

Hopefully I don't have to go through that again for a really long time....I wonder what dad means when he says his lease is almost up?
